About a month ago, I submitted a “Teach for America” Google alert and now receive an e-mail every time there is a Teach for America reference in a blog, website or press release. Many of the alerts are announcements of individuals’ acceptance into TFA, including graduation details and college accomplishments.
Before I announced my acceptance into the program, I decided to tell a few folks to see how the info would fly. If you’ve read the “About” section of my blog, you’ll know that I’m a bit long in the tooth, so to speak. My immediate circle of friends and family do not know about “Teach for America” and how difficult it is to get accepted. The first two people I told had very bizarre reactions.
